If the ship is going down, men choose death. This is the way God tells husbands to treat their wives in Ephesians 5 - "Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." Today's culture has made equality more of a priority than Christ-likeness.

Pastor Mark Driscoll examines the difference between the Bible and our cultural views on gender roles and values in this clip.

  • YES!

Men should be willing to provide for and die for their wives. This culture has completely lost any vestige of Biblical manhood and womanhood.

  • what women would have a problem with this?

  • Yes I agree that's the way it should be. I'm a firefighter and go into dangerous situations all the time. I would die tomorrow for my wife and kids as you said and would gladly do it to be with Jesus Christ. Men and Women in this country need to wake up. Thank you for not being easy on the men because too many have become a bunch of wimps and these young men and women don't have a clue what a real man is. Children need a loving father in the home to help raise them.

  • I would die for my wife and daughters without as much as a single second of thought.

  • @gladyswoods

    See: ugly miserable feminists.

  • p.s. :) i also think (this is personal opinion please don't beat me up) that women should be willing to die for husband, children, etc (others in general to be honest!) as Christ did for us. i personally would feel awful if i knew i had a chance to save someone and i lived in their stead. there actually is no biblical reference that backs up the point that women should be treated "specially". I'm all for equality and chivalry dont get me wrong but not just by the man - it's a two team thing

  • yes, men should be all this, mark driscoll is absolutely right, but i by no means believe women should be dependent on men because at the end of the day, thats all they are - men. women should be independent and able to fend for themselves, as many sad stories about widows in the bible should warn us!

  • @eltronrangamma In revelation it says that the church is Jesus bride but not the world

If Jesus didn't step up to be a man, you wouldn't be saying that, trust me. Just respect that a guy is willing to die for you. I've seen his videos and been following him for a year and a half. While the guy can be borderline chauvinistic, I've seen nothing from that is not biblical. In any case vampire, what do you think the Bible says what a woman is and what her role is in relation to a man?
