Mississippi State vs. Auburn, 1999

The 1999 Mississippi State Bulldog football team went into their game at Auburn undefeated at 5-0 on the season. Unfortunately for them, they lost their starting quarterback Wayne Madkin at halftime due to an injury to a finger on his throwing hand. The Bulldog offense struggled mightily throughout the game, and MSU found themselves trailing 16-3 late in the 4th quarter and time running out. Their hopes of an undefeated season looked lost, that is until the impossible happened. Watch as backup quarterback Matt Wyatt directs the miracle comeback.

I miss those Jackie Sherrill days, even though State has been better overall the past 3 years, the talent seems not as good. Miss those big hogs up front Sherrill seemed to always find.

He gave them 2 points, because with the punt, they had the opportunity to get better than decent field position....With the Kick off, they had a better chance at forcing them to sustain a long drive to win the game...which they really hadn't done almost all day....He played the odds and lost....
