  • i also have rooted the pineapple tops by placing the cut off tops in a jar of water and when the roots are long enough planting them...yes, this works, ......but i found the dried method faster. ...and sometimes, depending on your soil and where you live and whether your pineapple variety is GMO'd or not, ....iit may mature faster....and yes, you can dry the top inside the house.

  • actually, i do live in hawaii and i DID just plant those pineapples just before i shot the video. that's why the video is on PLANTING pineapples. i just decided i would make a video about it because i thought it was interesting.. Sunset magazine has an article about pineapple growing at home in there archives too. ..and i am by no means an expert....this is just how planting pineapples has worked for me. (continued in next comment....)

  • can you give me a pinapple plant? plez?

  • thank you im gonna plant a few =)))

  • Great video

  • I just lopped the top off of mine let it sit in water in a bowl on the top of my stove for a week and a half and kept putting in fresh distilled water in it every couple days then stuck it in a planter and it took off from there, there i planted it in potting soil and i believe it's about time to transplant it because it is growing in only 6" of potting soil and this is the start of the second year of growth so should be seeing a little one pop up just any time from the sounds of things.

  • omg..2 years!!

  • hi when you say "dry it out" can i do this inside the house. cut it and leave it on a paper towel in the kitchen? it's not warm enough to leave outside.

  • the "b" word was unnessasary! this is a venue for people that actually want to learn something. how did your comment help anyone??
