I noticed that when I used a reversing sweep in a tone generator, the moment of reversal caused a spike. So I set a continuous, very tight sweep and was able to produce continuous spikes. I would try sweeping around the frequencies where you are already getting the spikes.

the feedback loop is the air space. I have left this thing on the string till the feedback from the Bose is unbearable. And of course it just gets louder and on going. The tpu uses a magnetic field for the feedback loop.
