because cn already has a route through the rockies, though they might keep the line east of golden open to keep running coal trains from crowsnest pass

@DieselSmoke92 I'm afraid I don't know, I don't visit Edmonton much. I think it is moderately busy with traffic from the oil sands.

I'm not sure if it ever was CP but maybe it was. It was owned by Ontario Hydro for a period before being purchased by CN.
