@wandererlain This is from Abel Ferrara's 1995 film The Addiction. It's a truly brilliant work of art that is simply not to be missed. It's pretty deep and disturbing and is easily one of the best vampire films ever made.

I've read Nietzsche's Thus Spake Zarathustra and Burroughs' Naked Lunch. Far out deep stuff. What is this footage from?

@pi314too I share exactly the same opinion, putting the vampires in an urban setting provides a great allegory of modern drug addiction, using the vampire folklore as an obvious metaphor. The gritty black & white cinematography & the great locations are a credit to Ferrara.........

@Syndikati hahaha, what it shows is how Walken can ham it up like no other

ferrara had a pretty untouchable period in his career

I dont think the message was to glorify the addiction with sexiness. I think that would have reduced the film to a vapid siren scream for a sailor. For me it was the message that the indulgence of the addiction, however momentarily gratifying, ends up being totally self consuming. I think this film is brilliant. One of my favs.

nice!can we get the full movie it could me nice.i been looking around to get this movie...check out for the chelsea on the rocks documentary coming soon abel movie

The vampire biting should have been more sexy. But the feast at the end was pretty brutal... I just think it was so close to being absolute classic and slipped into being cult classic.
You wanna go someplace dark?
