calling things like this a war grave is propaganda. the military industrial complex only spends money on making war machines and killing. After all these years these men deserve a proper burial at home and the sub deserves to be preserved to serve it's own history. nobody ever wants to pay for it unless they can make serious money. things which aren't econimically viable get destroyed or left to rot.

@JoeisWinning I agree, and I doubt the guys who went down on those ships and planes during ww2, would want their actions forgotten. Most of those kind of items in museums, tell about the crews and their lives, so they're remembered. Plus, they say you have to learn from the past to keep from making it's mistakes, so if we're to avoid world war 3 we need to make sure we and every generation to come knows what went on during the last global war.

@JoeisWinning I agree. If things are left as they are, people will have nothing but pictures to remember the past. If it is preserved it can be seen first hand.

my opinion is they should not leave it as a burial site. but bury them in a grave so people actually know they died hero's instead of under water left alone forever to only be viewed by a diver once in a while. oh well. rest in peace. and thank you for fighting for our freedom.

@ACE56221 Googal the history of the Wilhelm
Gustoff not sure on the spelling but will get you there the biggest loss of life in maritime history. All non combatants men, woman and children in 1944 or 45 loss of life unknown but at least 5000.
people always say that ww2 wrecks should be left alone, and that they should be treated as burial sites. if there was any human remains left inside of one of these wrecks, and was found, they would be brought to the surface to be buried properly. I personally think that artifacts from these wrecks should be preserved and not left to deteriorate
