The DD40-x's were awesome. They were seen on East bound fast freights out of Los Angeles to Arizona.

@GranTurismo360 Since the locomotive is so long, it is a "passage" way to get from one side to the other.

@GranTurismo360 From what I remember reading, they had to run with the side doors open to help prevent the engines from overheating.

thats where some of the electronical equipment is located (Thats my best guess from what i pieced together using the internet)
