Danbury Trash Route - Tuesday Pt 1

Ah... The first of many videos to come of my lovely Danbury route. This town is the closest thing we have to a city (around 80k population) and I got both of the downtown, nasty routes. You'll notice throughout these videos that there are multiple trash cans per home and not a lot of recycle cans, reason being these are mostly rental homes with 4 or more apartments in them and their primary language usually isn't English so they can't quite grasp the concept of putting their trash out WEEKLY or facing the cans FORWARD.

Eventually they might learn that if they put their trash out on time and every week then they won't have a weeks worth of trash still laying on the ground after I service their cans... Chances are very good though, that they will not learn a single thing!

Also at 8:45 that's not me fucking up, the joystick has a short in it sometimes.

these city guys routes suck just a bit more than you thought they would huh? you get the joy of dealing with the ignorant assholes within the city! hooray! why does the arm sometimes shoot down at freakin mock 4 then other times it just goes at normal speed?

@3amrepmike3 Actually I like these routes! I don't care about extra trash or much of anything really, if it's even slightly blocked by a car I just keep driving and mark it down. The arm comes down at different speeds because I want it to lol! With the way some of the cans are set out on these old busted up sidewalks they stay upright better with the lids closed sometimes. Plus the SSI's are way harder to flip lids with than the Otto's, the pins must be tighter or something.

@KFCOrBust haha yea makes sense. The ssi dont flip since there lids are attached on the outsides and insides so when there squeezed it actually twists the handle so they dont like to open past 90 degrees. hard to explain but you probably couldnt care less anyhow haha. its convenient for those who try not to flip lids though.

Big difference to the routes I've seen in some of your other videos, especially with all those parked cars in some spots - lucky for the good reach on these Labries! This was fun to watch; a coupe of the bin placements were of interest at 6:09 and 8:37, the excess at 9:50 and 14:00 were funny, but nothing beat the bag on top at 2:50... like why not just put it under the lid?! lol Sweet footage, love the early start in the dark and that Labrie lifter is awesome to watch taking care of business :P

Great video, but you're right, these routes are a lot different tha your usual routes out in the woods. You can hear a lot of glass failing into the truck at many stops and you're right, almost no one has recycling out. Must make the recycling guys job pretty easy. Lol, at the group of kids waiting for the bus at the end of the video. Sucks to be them!

Why dont you suggest / Comment to the council or your company to put varieties of language stickers of the collection routine and how to recycle etc...
