This creature is a descendant of the previous one (the 200th-great grandchild, roughly). The movement of the ancestor was interesting, but it has really refined itself a lot since then. I find it's quite impressive now.

The ancestor was evolved on youtube user Fromzon's machine, and the subsequent generations ran on my machine.

  • It'd be so much fun to be that thing.

  • @PsychoJosh It does look a bit like it's having fun :)

  • This is indeed exceptional. Wow! I'm glad I saw the others first. This is just magnificent!

  • @bundangbear Thanks! This one is still my favorite, even after three years of new creatures.

  • Is there anyway I could download this one in particular? I am trying to figure out at what angle each body cube thingi is rotating and at what axises. So that I could accurately represent it in a 3-D model using Google Sketchup, then importing it into Pepakura and bringing it to reality.

  • @tostrong4you Seriously? That would be pretty cool! :)

There is a way to get this creature, in fact. Scroll through the uploaded videos on my channel and find the one called "free worms". There's a download link in there.

  • @Serpico261

Why are you skeptical of computer simulations of evoloution, if you do not mind me asking?

  • Onyx!

  • @Snyphen356 yep, i studied biology. I asked this question in the context of this computer program. Im always skeptical about computer simulations for evolution in general.

  • @Serpico261 you know how evolution works? well this program does that, and the 'fittest' that lives on is the one that can move the farthest

  • What inputs and outputs does its have?

  • That is an interesting type of locomotion. Perhaps one reason why we don't see it in nature is that at Earth's gravity it requires two sets of strong muscles to flex the body in both directions, which is too costly as strong = large.

  • wow imagine these things on fast forward, left alone to continue evolving until they become intelligent, and figure out a way to build themselves, maybe with some unsuspecting human help...its paradigm shifting!

  • おもしろい

  • evolved, how?

  • perfect. Its movement is so complex
