@12liljil I don't believe Kelly was attacking Taylor, but was defending herself as an American Idol contestant against Swift's record deal label was implying about her singing capabilities - which I think is fair enough. Kelly is a fan of Swift - she even performed a cover of one her songs not so long ago.

I don't believe Kelly was meaning to lash out and attack Taylor specifically, but rather is defending what could be perceived as an indirect attack on herself. Gotta love how the media spins things. Kelly paid a great compliment to Taylor, by doing a cover of her song at a gig, so I doubt very highly she was aiming that comment at TS.

She also said "I understand defending your artist obviously because I have done the same in the past for artists I like including Taylor so you might see why it's upsetting to read you attacking American Idol for producing simply vocalists that hit 'the high notes'.

She didn't "slam" Taylor Swift personally, she was defending American Idol winners from the record company head who was being snide about AI. Say what you will about those shows, but Kelly's voice kicks Taylor's any day of the week and that is saying something becuause Taylor is great!
