Korg Poly 800 and EX 800 with HAWK-800 mod's

Another video demonstrating some of the new features of the HAWK-800 modification kit. This video shows sequencer note follow mode as well as portamento mono mode. The Poly800 is set to play a sequence and the new note follow mode causes the sequence to shift keys according to the lead note being played. But local control is turned off on the Poly 800 so that the sequencer plays the Poly 800 alone but the lead note is transmitted via MIDI to the EX800 which is set to Portamento mono mode. So the Poly 800 is playing the shifting sequence and the EX800 is playing the lead.

I doubt that the problem is software. I recommend you get onto yahoo group korgpolyex. We have a great community of Poly 800 fans and we'll most likely be able to help you sort out the problems you have. The kit adds new features but you can still achieve the exact same sounds as the original.

I beelive in you. I have pay pal, just gotta transfer money to it. I have the original poly 800. Se the video i have called "fly music vid" Poly is playing the base line. I think my poly has software troubles tho. The chorus doesent work, and the waveforms do not sound normal. like saw or square... i realy like how it sounds now tho, and i am a little afraid it will sound different with the upgrade. Any experience with software trouble on them?

Pick the one that applies because there is a difference between the Poly 800 kit and the EX-800 kit. Also, if you have a Poly 800 MKII then this kit will NOT work for you. when you go to the website, click on the link to "Tech Support". On that page, download the "Hawk-800 construction and installation (draft) - PDF.". It provides step by step help along with pictures, tools needed, the whole thing.

Yes, you get a new EPROM with the kit. And then three flash ROMs and two static RAM chips. The EPROM becomes the boot loader so that you can download the software into the flash.
