1) Wow. TPM looked so different back then. Honestly, I like that look better than I do the current one.
2) WHY AREN'T THESE GUYS IN JAIL YET!! Hell, Rove is running around defying subpoenas and winning awards for god-awful punditry. What the hell people?!
Thanks for your coverage of "voter fraud" issues that are code to disinfranchise and suppress the vote. Please continue coverage of this issue and the repressive Voter I.D. efforts -- especially before we cast our votes in November 2008.
As a direct assault on our voting system, I don't see how this could be any more important; Thank you Josh, for performing a valuable public service for us all!!
Well gosh, as you must know from everything you've read by people who actually work in the study of election integrity, voter fraud is a total nonissue. Republicans use the "issue" to justify caging, roll purging and other discouragements in targeted districts to prevent poor people and minorities from voting.
I agree with pat637 in that this only proves that the firings of those US attorneys was justified. Rove was concerned about voter fraud and followed up with firings based on lack of action by those attorneys. I'm confused about what is wrong with that. I would hoope that the next Democrat President would have done the same regarding voter fraud by Republicans.
Another great piece, Josh. Even though there was a recent study showing that voter fraud is minimal, it's worth debunking the cases Rove brings up. There are plenty of people on the right who see "Attorneygate" as an attempt by the left to stifle "legitimate" investigations.
