The ones mating don't chase each other, that's males chasing away other males, duh.

Actually, in gators, the males don't fight much. Males and females chase each other around before mating. Note:Most other crocodilians are much more aggressive than this, but alligators are an exception.

That's really how they mate...they chase each other...it seems ridiculous if they mate by chasing each other though...
