Just another part of my job, hauling scrap!! Not so bad until it all gets mangled and tangled inside the trailer... It took over two hours to get this load off of the trailer. and then I was on my way home, 5 miles away.... TWO HOURS!!!

  • you have the same problem with wood chips in the winter that is a pain in the rear end right there. when they are all froze together u have to lower it clean it higher and so on sucks

  • @SuperTruckerJon I used to be a chiphauler !! A little diesel on the floor helps to get the load out !!

  • Ok, since no one is going to say it I will. I think we've all have experienced this in one way... or another.

Sorry, it was too good a chance to pass up.

  • LOL.. yeah, it is part of trucking. I think this particular instance got on my nerves because it was the end of a long day..We dont normally dump our own trailers. I was delayed for an accident a few miles from the plant, and I was only 3 minutes from home. But, yeah, we all have these days :-)

  • good vid, I have only two questions no.1 why they don't use dump trailers for that, and no.2 how the trailer holds to the lift?is it just a trailer brake that holds it?5*

  • 1. It is cheaper to just use the lift, rather than replacing all of our scrap trailers, plus, outside carriers might not have dump trailers, so it works out well for all.

    2. Yep, the only thing holding it is the brakes. Maybe you noticed the beam over the top of the trailer..That would help keep it stable if it did decide to take a tumble, but we have not lost a single trailer yet :-)
