This is the version by George Elrick, with Henry Halls BBC Dance Orchestra, dir. Bert Read, 1936. It would be interesting to hear old 'Breezy' singing it....

Indeed, you're correct sir! I got a "blind" MP3 recording of this number and misguessed its origins...we'll just ignore the misinformation and enjoy the song (and lyrics). ;)
