@ColignyForever -but the Bible was used for its justification. Scriptures were quoted on how to treat slaves, as laid out in the Old Testament.
Yes, but note that this scriptures were regularly mis-quoted and misapplied out of context (in the American government sanctioned chattel slave system). The point of the bible slave codes was to regulat the degrading abuses of slave systems (read the Exodus acct of Hebrew slavery) & eliminate it. In the Bible slavery codes, slavery is is a type

Belief in unicorns does not influence politics or intrude upon the lives of people who do not believe in unicorns. No one is discriminated against because unicorns condemn them. No one in the past has been killed in the name of unicorns. The only two things God and unicorns have in common are 1. They are not real. and 2. They both come for virgins.
Those values he lists prior to 5:16 did not come into the world via Christianity. They existed beforehand. Christianity sometimes preaches the opposite of some of those values. Slavery did not happen because of Christianity, but the Bible was used for its justification. Scriptures were quoted on how to treat slaves, as laid out in the Old Testament.

Is D'Souza living on the same planet as the rest of us?? The reason no one has written books on Unicorns is because Unicorns haven't bombed civilians, caused wars, violated human rights or tell people how they should live thier lives. I find D'Souza the weakest of the weak apologists of religion.
