Question: Can you give an example where you went against party loyalty and maybe even your best interest for the good of America? 3 of 17 questions asked by Pastor and author Rick Warren of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. The same questions were asked of each presidential candidate, Barack Obama and John McCain in an informal forum called Saddleback Civil Forum on August 16, 2008.

  • Obama, Abortion rates have fallen since Bush has been in office and since republicans started passing pro life laws around the USA.

The Guttmacher Institute, reports a more than 25% decline from 1990 to 2005 in the abortion rate, with the number of abortions down 9% since the year 2000 and down to the levels of 30 years ago.

  • Typical Democrat! Obama screws up and it is always someone or something elses fault. Boo HOO Need a hanky? Fox is the only FAIR channel. Suppose MSNBC isn't pro Obama as well as NBC, CBS, ABC and all the others.

  • When you were my age? So now you know me? Arguements only make people further entrenched in what they already believe. Don't waste your time trying to make me feel bad you were in Iraq cus I don't. You volunteered and should be proud you did. Not using it as an arguement on Youtube.

  • uh barack obama is very rich now because he earned it he was not rich growing but he could richer sooner but decided to work for the people see how God works you work for the people and not go into corporate america and you still get rich God works in mysterious ways

  • While Sen. John McCain's wife and father-in-law were investing with Charles H. Keating, Jr. in a shopping center, McCain was helping Keating battle federal regulators who questioned his operation of Lincoln Savings and Loan Documents show that Sen. John McCain's wife, Cindy, and father-in-law, James W. Hensley are the largest investors

  • netcisco? I think Obama is more compassionate. You gotta remember that obama aint a rich boy. Cheney is a heavy weight when we talk about cash. 6 million is pocket change for guys like cheney.

  • Why should it be pro choice for a woman to kill life within her body? That baby is not her body! Many women who have had abortions are suffering from depression, because abortion goes against woman's nature.

Why not take precautions before, so that you don't have to make that choice?

  • Has anyone pointed out that Obama is LYING on this video? He didn't work with McCain on that legislation. He started to, and then he backstabbed McCain by backing out; it was a very infamous little event in which McCain wrote a letter to Obama at the time, pointing out how unethical (but politically expedient) his behavior was.

  • Chslosers, that's because the word VOTE, never came out of his mouth. I suggest you play it again.

  • Who is more compassionate to the "least of us"?

Obama gave 6% of his income to charity in 2007, he made over a million in 2007.

Dick Cheney gave over 70% of his income to charity. Cheney made over 8 million in 2007 and gave more than 6 million to charity.

Where in the scriptures does it say that the government needs to take care of the poor? Isn't that our job as a society? As a member of the family? As a member of a church?

  • mcCain's answer was very touching. How many of us could/would do the same, and pay for it with three years of POW camp.
