Pensions and health care for all americans do not cost as much money as the Department of Defense (about 650 billion a year now) and unnecessary military invasions of other countries (trillions of dollars) in violation of the constitution of the United States. Did I mention that these wars kill mainly civilians now? Everyone should have enough money to take care of themselves in their old age after working 30-40 years...but it's OK with you if CEO makes millions?

@geckster109
You see the problem is, you jackass. Is you end up getting way way way way way more from a pension after you retire then you ended up paying in. And im sorry you are a little whiny bitch about but, like it or not the pensions are BANKRUPTING cities and states. They are as unsustainable as social security and for the same reasons. It takes too many people to support 1 retire.

@geckster109 your right, and do to the non-existence of these services there will be a demand for it allowing entrepreneurs to come in and fulfill the demand more efficiently and more cost effectively than the government ever could. most firefighters are volunteer anyways.
anryth 1 year ago
@anryth You are right, my job doesnt "produce" anything. As a firefighter, I create nothing tangible. I simply risk my life to save yours. Perhaps we should do away with fire and police, huh? We dont need those services.
geckster109 1 year ago
@geckster109 the point is that government jobs dont actually produce anything and your paycheck comes from tax payers who actually do produce things. getting paid to work simply to create a job isnt really productive, if it was then the government would just hire everyone in the country, oh wait, soviet russia already tried that.

Hey assholes, all government workers who are in a pension plan PAY into it throughout their careers. I have been paying into my pension at a rate of 9.125% of my gross salary since I was 23 years old. The average American worker saves less than 3% towards retirement. My pension isnt some "gift", I PAID for it at a very high rate. If you want to point the finger at a "taxpayer burden", look towards all the welfare and handouts for people who DONT WORK! Dont point the finger at hard workers.
