Over the past few months, we've picked up some interesting wines from three states in the Midwest. While the region isn't known for producing a lot of wine, there are some old wineries there, as well as steady growth. We check out the Wollersheim Winery White Riesling, the 2009 Saint Croix Vineyards La Crescent, and the 2007 Baxter's Vineyards and Winery Norton Private Label. What did you drink for your New Year's celebration?

  • We haven't done Canadian wine on the show, but you're right, we should. I've enjoyed wine from Jackson-Triggs and Morning Bay though. We effectively see no hybrid wines in the Oregon market, but I'll keep my eyes open when I'm back in Minnesota. Aside from Jackson-Triggs and Inniskillin, we don't see much from Canada either. It's good to know that we have people watching who care about that though, so if we see some, we'll be more likely to give it a try. Thanks!
