Here is an episode of John Davidson's Hollywood Squares from December 1986.

Today, Tom returns to have another crack at a new car. Will he or Stacey get that chance at the end of the show? No copyright infringement is intended.

Panel: Roseanne (Barr), Mary Lou Retton, Fred Travalena, Judy & Audrey Landers, Lou Rawls, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Shadoe Stevens, Steve Allen, and Richard Simmons (center square)

  • Why was there a curtain behind John?

  • Don't read the comments much? It concealed the Jeopardy board!

  • I can't believe nobody has commented on 1) how Dr. Ruth was trying to read her answer of Los Angeles Lakers by looking down at a note and #2) How each star picked their corresponding square on the jeopardy board. Notice Richard Simmons takes center Steve allen takes bottom right. And it goes on and on. Obviosuly the stars knew their questions beforehand!

    Great upload as always!!

  • Thanks. They didn't usually say it on this version, but the celebs got help developing their bluffs by getting info about their questions (though they don't hear the actual ones until the game starts).

  • Jeopardy! board on Hollywood Squares?

  • @jasetraber I think Richard Simmons was YAAAAAAAAY-ing along with Roseanne, doubling the annoyance!

  • Yes son, in the days before the internet this is what we did for fun

  • @jasetraber I have a feeling even the most avid Squares viewer was tempted to bail before the first commercial break because of that "YAAAAAAAAY!" I'm sure the sponsors loved it as well.
