The reason I don't particularly like Hitomi-sempai for Sato is because she influences him negatively. He's an impressionable person, and she has a slew of her own problems (depression, substance abuse, paranoia), so I don't think they work well together. When they were in school together, he liked her so much that he fell into her delusions about conspiracies as well, and that's a part of why he's so disillusioned now. She, like Misaki, is a great, complex character though.
