OH jeez.... I hope this isn't what's going on with my house. My parents also had thousands of dollars of repairs after carpenter ants chewed up half their attic.

we have these little buggers in our upstairs and bathrooms, and a few downstairs.
I dont know where their coming from!
and i dont how they get to the upstairs either.
we're calling an exterminator tomorrow hopefully he can fix this

Good luck! If you get a good exterminator, they'll give you a year's guarantee. We had to call ours back again this spring, no charge fortunately.

I wasn't aware there was a problem. Water was leaking underneath the window and into the wall. This wet the wood behind the siding, but I couldn't see it. Once wood is soft like this, it's apparently ideal for carpenter ants. I only discovered them because I leaned on the wall and noticed it was soft. It gave a bit under my hand, where the two by sixes were supposed to be.
