Recorded under the name "Blind Thomas" Nov 15, 1959.
Early John Fahey, with some singing too! You might recognise the first picture as well, as it is the photo used for the cover of Fahey's first album "The Legend of Blind Joe Death."
To those who are saying his singing is bad: he sounds a million times better than Loud Reed at his best! And Eric Clapton (I am a fan) isn't anything special as a singer. John's voice fits the type music he is playing pretty well, in my opinion. Sounds good! Love the slide guitar!
I think his voice would have had potential with a few lessons. But his guitar playing speaks for itself. He`s one of those very few artists who didnt need to sing.
@dogstarbran No its a number done by many guys in the 20, 30,s, standard blues passed around to many, Gus Cannon did it with slide banjo, check it out.
I really like Dust to Digital's new boxed set (5 CD's) of John Fahey called "Your Past Comes Back to Haunt You" They did a great job on it and it comes with an LP sized 88 page hard cover book.
great!!

But in blues that would be a good voice, tongue tied gravelly adds to the blues.
