Happy birthday indeed, Ms. Rainer- going strong at 102 today!! People nowadays like to scoff at the telephone scene in TGZ- implying it wasn't Oscar-worthy and so forth- but it still packs a punch, especially around the 8:59 mark. The woman has the most incredibly large, dark eyes- like shining onyx!!

Luise Rainer is an inspiration to all of us hyper-emotional types. The acting profession was a wise choice indeed. I can't help think that this role was a little bit autobiographical for her.
