Anime Movie: Vampire Hunter D is the only movie I can think of.
And try Stein;s gate, it's really interesting and ranked as the 3rd best anime ever

@Ektherion00 Hmm specifically Sci-fi, guess Elfen Lied, is really more supernatural but has this sci fi twist in it, and it has gore, a lot.. Think you want some spooky atmosphere, and the right anime for that is deffo Ghost Hunt, that's deffo gonna fill your needs, if you want awesome action set in a "fantasy" kinda world: Hellsing Ultimate, A lot of gore, BEATIFUL art, Magnificent story. But Elfen Lied.. perfect for you :)
