I checked the call ID: Joe.
How could I possibley deal with this now! As tears welled in my eyes, I knew telling Joe now was too late. But I was thankful I had one last chance to tell him I loved him. To hear his velvet voice ringing in my ear, as he laughed at something Kevin had probabley said. Or told me about a new song Nick was working on. Or just told me how much he loved me. Anything. I would take anything.
"Hello?" I said into the reciever, half hoping he'd hung up already.
"Carson, babe!" he smiled. "We just finished the show, and I can't wait to see you."
"Great. I'm on my way to the airport now." I said.
"I can't wait to see you, to hold you." he gushed, going into one of his phases. "I love you."
Why did he phone! Tears were rushing down my face, and my vision blurred. My hands were shaking and I felt freezing cold, yet over-heated. Vomit rose up my dry throat and I swallowed it back down.
"I love you too Joe." I whispered.
"Carson, what's wrong?" he asked, alarm high in his voice.
"Will you do something for me?" I asked, allowing a strand of hair to fall into my eyes. It felt more private this way.
"Anything."
"Just tell me how much you love me, please." I begged.
"Carson, whats going on?" he asked, more panicked.
"Just...please Joe." I pleaded.
"Carson. I love you so much words cannot describe." he started. "You're the reason I wake up in the morning. The inspiration for my music, and my sole purpose in life. You're my soul mate, and I want to be with you forever." he said. "I don't know what's going on, but I promise I'm always here for you."
"I love you Joe." I finished.
Then I hung up.
"It's over." I said, glancing back towards Nathan.
People say your last words are supposed to be meaningful. But I couldn't think of anything to fit the situation. I wish I hadn't lied. I wish I hadn't agreed upon this. I had many regrets, but when it came down to it, only one thing mattered. Joe.
"Say your goodbye's Carson." Nathan hackled, retrieveing a gun from his jacket pocket.
"I love you Joseph." I whispered.
"CARSON!"
*Blackness*
Joe's POV
"Hey guys." I called.
"What's up Joe?" Kevin asked, sitting beside me on the couch.
"I just phoned Carson and she sounded....weird." I answered.
"Are you sure she wasn't just being Carson?" Nick asked.
"No. This time there was deffinetly something wrong." I stated.
"Well, what did she say?" Kevin probed.
"She asked me to tell her how much I loved her." I whispered.
Nick and Kevin rose in laughter. Obviously I was missing something.
"Explain." I sighed. Too tired to bother decoding the humour myself.
"Girls are always asking crap like that." Kevin said, taking a bite from his apple. "Sometimes, they just need re-assurance."
"But she was crying." I said, hoping they'd understand my panic.
"She's a girl. They're always over-emotional." Nick finished. They had both decided I'd over-reacted. Kevin's cell started vibrating, and I sat considering my conversation, while he spoke quickly with whoever had called. Which was probabley Hayley. Why had she been crying? I didn't think I'd done anything to upset her, maybe she had a fight with Riley or Hayley. Or maybe her parents. There were many possibilities.
"She didn't." I heard Kevin say.
Of course she knows I love her, it was stupid for her to doubt it. If that was the problem in the first place. Nick and Kev were probabley right. Just typical girls, sobbing over the tiniest little things. Like when chicks cry at movies. News flash! It's not real.
"Ok, I'll tell him." Kevin muttered, hanging up.
Tell who what? What was going on now!
"Joe, I have something to tell you." Kevin whispered.
"Yeah?" I asked, impatiently.
"Carson never showed up at the airport. They think something's happened to her." he said.
My breath caught in my throat, and my heart began pounding. I knew something was wrong. It felt like part of me was missing, and that wasn't good.
"She never showed?" I asked, hesitant of what the answer may be.
"They think she could be in trouble." he said.
Trouble. Carson. Typical!
DUMM DUMM DUMMM!
SEASON 2 IS OVER!!
This song is the one I used for the first chapter of this season, so I thought it'd be cool to use it again. I already have some of season 3 written, and I'll start uploading Friday, seen as we break up from school then. I'm sure ya'll can last 5 days :D
It's hard to believe at the beggining of this Hayley thought she was pregnant, now Carson could possibley be dead?!?
Anyways I'm rambling, but I thought I'd let you know about american math. Yepp, we watched a video of american math and instead of saying square root, you guys say radical. The whole class were using southern accents all day, it was super fun. Then I discovered my science teacher - the hot australian - has seen Linkin Park in concert!
