The customs and heritage of ancient Sicily are still present in San Diego today. This photo show depicts the Madonna Del Lume Society religious procession through the streets of San Diego's Little Italy. The history of the Madonna Del Lume dates back to 1777 when a church was erected in the town of Porticello in the Madonna's honor. Now in its 71st year, this procession each October reenacts the age-old traditions in the heart of San Diego's Little Italy neighborhood. For more information, log on to www.sicilianfesta.com.
