A webcam is left to capture the goings on in Marchmont, Edinburgh, Scotland, from around 9pm one January night until around 7pm the next day. The rush hours are particularly noticable. The images were captured at 320x240 resolution, once every 10 seconds, using an open-source automated capture application, Dorgem, and compiled using ImageToAVI.
Is ImageToAVI a free application?

I seem to remember it was when I first used it, but now it appears to be a little over £6 GBP. Bummer.
There's always the "usual sources," if you are that way inclined, but remember and support small software houses if you actually use their code!

It was mid January, 2006, and the charts say sunrise 0844, sunset 1550, so you were pretty much right. That's Scottish winter for you... I feel sorry for the people working 9-5 who never see the sun. It's not quite Icelandic short days though, now that's a sight...

It's at the bottom of Marchmont Rd. The road that leads away into the distance is Warrender Park. Terr. The camera was on Roseneath Pl. Apologies for the low quality footage, and no soundtrack!
