This video was taken on our daughter's 6th day in her new home in the US(three weeks after adoption). She is four years old and is from RongXian, Guangxi, China.

She's apparently saying something about her sister, Emily??

  • i'm cantonese. she said something about emily is in the room and something with the bed. that was definitely not cantonese. but i understood when you said "emily ha been do ah?" that you were asking where emily was. very cute video!

  • She's speaking Zhuang. This is baby talk about Emily and their room.  She's saying that Emily is in the room.

  • I think she is speaking 'Toi shan'-a dialect that is similar to cantonese.

  • We adopted our daughter at 8 months from Hunan so we didn't have that problem ! Neither of you seem to be frustrated by it though. Both of you will learn quickly. Congratulations - she is too stinkin' cute !
