50-year old Mr Tong rang-up a freelance Computer Repairman to have his PC fixed. Once done, the repairman asked for a total sum of $1580. Uninformed & inexperienced, Mr Tong agreed to pay the full sum by Check.
Once his family found out that night, they pointed out that new PCs can be purchased for half that price. Worried Mr Tong immediately cancelled his Check.
The Repairman filed his claim with SCT (Small Claims Tribunals). Mr Tong brought the matter to CASE (Consumers Association of Singapore).
Did the Repairman overcharged? Or Mr Tong had to paid dearly for his lessons? Frontline has the news.
