"Shissou"
© LAST ALLIANCE/Ouran High School Host Club.
This video was made for entertainment. I own nothing.

My first fandub. What to say, derpderp.

So, Ouran got me through a really tough summer, and I listened to Shissou (albeit in Japanese) every single day on my iPod on the way to work. So when I decided today that my voice didn't sound as weird as it usually does, and then decided to sing, the English version of Shissou decided to make itself the subject. :D

Some things:

1. Yes, the quality is not the greatest. I'm very new to all of this - Audacity, mixing, singing, everything. I hope to get better with some practice and learn to put these fandubs together in a nicer way. xD

2. My voice goes all over the place, I'm aware. There are some spots where I want to headdesk when I listen to them.

3. Constructive criticism is most definitely welcomed. In fact, I encourage it. I want to know if anyone has any tips that I could use to improve... it would be awesome to get some. :D

If my voice keeps up the way I want it (which I doubt it will be the way I want it on a consistent basis, ugh), I hope to record a lot more soon, now that I've shown myself I can do them. xD The Japanese version of Shissou will definitely be one, as well as some others I have listed on my channel. :D

Thanks for watching, and for any constructive crits you might have to give me. ;)

  • I hate to say it, but you didn't have a single key right in that entire song until the end of the first chorus. And your timing is WAAAAAAAAAY off.

  • @wickedlady666 I'm not a fantastic singer, I don't pretend to be. I accept your criticism without really knowing what to do about it, because I'm not musically inclined or musically knowledgeable. Hah. However, I still fail to understand why people can't leave criticisms in a way that is, if not kinder, at least done in a slightly respectful manner. I hardly consider "WAAAAAAAAAY" to be dignified or helpful at all.

  • @Acinonyxxxx I do apologize, I was fairly tired when I wrote that and, I will admit, I am not at my kindest when I am tired. My advice would be to practice your scales via musical instrument that does not de-tune easily (even a child's toy xylophone will do), and get a metronome of sorts to practice timing. It doesn't take too long to get it down, and then you can try again and show your stuff. You can do it, it just takes practice.

  • @wickedlady666 Thank you, it's always pretty great when people can show that they're not jerks; internet tone (or lack thereof), y'know? Anyway, I feel I'm probably far too lazy to get my voice in shape, if not too old anyway. However, I'll take what you said into consideration if I ever want to start somewhere easy. :D

  • @Acinonyxxxx You're very welcome, I'm glad I could help. Besides, you can't be all that old, I'm sure.

  • @wickedlady666 I'm 20, haha. When I say "too old", I generally mean that I have the opinion that you have to start really young to get your voice to be awesome when you're older. I don't know that it's something you can just pick up as an adult. Maaaaybe I'm wrong?

  • @Acinonyxxxx Haha I'm 27. But I suppose I was always fairly musically inclined, it sort of runs in the females on my maternal side. But 20 is still young enough that you can work on it. All it takes is practice.

  • @BenzAMG65 I've never had any vocal training or real practice. *shrugs* I don't sing for a living or anything like that. And for future reference, there are nicer ways to critique someone's work. If you're going to bother to actually comment, try not to make yourself look like an ass in the process. :)

  • sounds like you have a nice voice, but...lulz...tone deaf much?
