I am so glad she enjoyed entertaining President & Mrs. Bush. It must have been a real honor for her to have been invited, one final command performance before her passing.
Of course the Bushes knew of Miss Kitt's reputation. She had a hit record on RCA with "Santa Baby,"and was a well-known entertainer for decades, including her substituting for Julie Newmar as "The Catwoman" on TV's "Batman" for several episodes, before Newmar's return.
