@agricola There's some differences between the Sable (Martes Zibellina) and American Marten (Martes Americana). This one here is a Sable. And you're right about mink, they don't hunt in trees and don't have a bushy tail.

@HardRokMiner This is the sable, also known as Martes Zibellina. It's INCREDIBLY similar to the North-America-roaming American Marten, Martes Americana and it's also a bit similar to the Pine Marten, Martes Martes. Apparently Martes Zibellina hunt in packs in Siberia, which is the opposite of normal marten behaviour, due to the harsh climate and scarcity of food. Since their coats are similar, historically, marten and sable have both been classed as each other, and are all Martes anyway.

@agricola - Its not called an american Martin. Its just called a Martin. You must be american? You fuckers try to claim everything as yours. Also, a Sable and a Martin are the same animal. I trapped them for years when I was younger. When we would send them in for sell the tags would come back marked as Sable sometimes.
