With suicide rates among active military servicemen and veterans currently on the rise, the HBO special WARTORN 1861-2010 brings urgent attention to the invisible wounds of war. Drawing on personal stories of American soldiers whose lives and psyches were torn asunder by the horrors of battle and PTSD, the documentary chronicles the lingering effects of combat stress and post-traumatic stress on military personnel and their families throughout American history, from the Civil War through today's conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • THE most heart touching documentary ever made. My efforts to thank/help veterans have been redoubled.

  • 5:18 - 7:18 Wow

  • @sass225 Have you tried getting in contact with other veterans so you have people to relate to? Also maybe there are better support groups out there? I cant' help you, but I'm just trying to throw ideas out there. I'd rather mention them then assume you tried already, since you never know. I really hope you get proper help.

  • thank you for posting this

  • @sass225 its very cool (sorry i dont have the words to express myself correctly) that you are able to share theese things with me/us (on youtube) and i can imagine how large crowds put you on guard but if knowing you are making something important makes you feel good then why not help other vets/homeless people get shelter thru a organitzation, from what ive heard it looks quite dark in the states right now for vets and others, they need all the help they can get. just a thought, friend
