This is part of a small series on the how-tos of backpacking. This is by no means authoritative but it is one perspective on how to set yourself up for an extended hike

  • awesome video series

  • great job, Mountain House $4.88 @ walmart - camping section

so you have four times what you showed in the movie ,you truly are craszy but genius.

    nice .

  • Break the diet rules if you will be exerting yourself outdoors in the wild.

Sugars, fats, pasta, starches are good.

Fats lubricate the joints, and grow nails and hair. Add potassium and Vitamins A,B6, B12, C, E. Salt or sodium normally is one level teaspoon (2,000 mg), but carry I extra.

Look for fiber, anti-oxidants and water.

Peanut butter, crackers, ham, grape jelly, tea, and plenty of water.

If u eat ok, u poop ok.

  • Mix as desired: Corn, rice, macaroni, potato, beans, beef, chicken, turkey, tuna, flour tortillas, corn flour tortillas, pita bread, ...

  • PRINCE.... Sounds horrible.... So you are afraid to carry 10 pounds of food which keeps getting lighter.... You are not very health conscious....

  • some useful tips, will try some.
