In September 2007, 30 newly displaced children from Mogadishu were given cameras to capture their day to day life in settlements.
When they were asked if they had a message to share with the rest of the world, they talked of food and shelters, of clothes and education. They dreamed of being doctors, teachers and pilots. They dreamed of peace.
Since the beginning of the year, some 325,000 Somalis have fled Mogadishu's unrelenting violence, joining 400,000 protracted displaced. The lasting turmoil prevents another 800,000 Somalis from meeting their basic needs.

  • Thank you for this video. Thank you for sharing with us what these Somali refugee kids think and dream of. I am touched and i pray and hope, like many of you who have watched this video, that their dreams will one become true and a living reality. If given the chance these children can be future potential leaders; peace-builders, problem solvers, inventors, doctors, philosophers and professors. Please lets help these children, one at a time. Its possible.

  • The comments on this page are very disturbing! It does not matter who, or where these people are from....it matters that they are humans. It could be you who was born there, then your predjudice attutudes would be different.

Try to learn love, and compassion for others. These are little children that are starving, and eager for education! Dont mock them.

    Shame on you!

The holy scriptures say that GOD is LOVE, how do you think he wants his worshippers to treat others? YES...with LOVE!
