just get the exact same Asian ornament, wood log, rocks, etc. At my local PetSmart. Need 6 to 8 pounds of gravel and I went with white gravel over sand (heard the sand can get all over everything when cleaning). Nice little tank. Ghost crabs are great for the bottom to help keep the tank cleaner. The corner net and magnetic glass cleaner is a must.

so, that's the filtration for that tank? ugh.. nevermind. they sure charge a pretty penny for crap. :( i'm very glad there's youtube videos of tank kits...  it's quite a money saver. quaint setup though. :D

The tetra are panting because there is insufficient oxygen in the water, they are struggling to breathe...the water needs changing to stop build up of nitrites and ammonia which is highly toxic to your fish...it's cruel to keep them in these conditions & if you were in the UK you would face prosecution from the R.S.P.C.A - Shame on you!

Panting update, for small fish,(especially the ones who don't move) they need to do that to breathe, so in other words, it's normal!
