The trade screenings happen 3 weeks prior to the release of the film. Cloverfield was really weird. It was totally hush hush and very few people saw it. I WILL be sitting through the premiere next week as part of my job so I can't bring a guest. :-( Sorry!

Yes, the employee screenings always happen on the DAY OF the release so they're really not *special* other than the fact that you can walk out of your office and walk into the Paramount Theatre to watch the film instead of dealing with parking and crowds. The very first regular screening of any movie for a studio is the TRADE SCREENING and that is so the film buyers and theatre owners can see what they will be buying/negotiating. It's a legal requirement.

Thanks Lisa! Ah he was talking about the employee screenings. He was a random industry person that sat next to me. And we got to chatting. Maybe he didn't know or maybe this movie doesn't allow guess. I dunno. Yeah, I don't think he was talking about the premiere.
It's okay if you can't get me in. Another thing perhaps. And if you want to I have a few more screenings left if you want to go see stuff. Private message me if you want details.

This video is too cute by the way!! I'm working the Cloverfield premiere next week. It's here on the lot. Maybe that's what your friend is talking about? I can't get you into that though... I don't handle the premiere invite lists. That's PR and I'm in distribution. :-( Sorry!!

There are no other screenings of Cloverfield until the day it opens and then we screen it here on the lot for the employees. Hmm... I wonder what your friend was talking about...

Hey!! I just saw this. I don't know what screening your friend was talking about because Cloverfield is closed to anyone other than for legal requirements. We didn't even do any press screenings. I handle the trade screenings and only specific people were let in.
