@Penelopeb155 that makes absolutely no sense, you clearly don't know enough about animal cruelty. at least by milk from a local farm or at least organic if being vegan is too much work. there are plenty of recipes that don't require substitutes. substitutes are just for those people who cant live without pizza or cheesecake.

@jwipe moderation of everything.
-
@monique0sama I'm not sure there's anything un-processed for all these animal substitutes.
-
@jwipe recipe please? I used to make a wicked cheesecake, but no more dairy for Monique! I am looking for a good recipe for vegan cheesecake without the "processed" analogues!

That's a tremendous amount of soy, which is very bad for the thyroid (earth balance is soy based as well). I make a great gluten-free and soy-free vegan cheesecake.

happpily a vegetarian.

This looks so good, but it is cheeper to buy a ready made vegan cheesecake and add your own topping. I buy strawberry flavour from my health food shop, its too good for words!

we should go out and... feed the birds.

tuffuti has tofu in it.
Man being a vegan sounds like too much work and devotion. I don't think being a vegan makes you more of an animal lover than the meat eating dog owner.
I'd rather have real dairy than an artificial substitute.

But if you really love your animal companion you could never harm it, so I think that it does because your love for animals reaches beyond your own pet to all animals, big & small all over the world. Knowing you haven't harmed a life to sustain your own leaves your conscience clean and happy. When you see the suffering behind the closed doors, you would not be able to eat another animal product.
