Here is a video of my second attempt at replicating SRV's Number One. The video quality isnt great but I tried to get some good close ups. I couldnt resist having Lenny playing in the background (cheesy I know - sorry :). Check out my other vidoes to see my other guitars and a video of the build process start to finish. Thanks for watching and comments are welcome!

  • whats the string gauge ?

  • @minus0472 13, 15, 18P, 28, 38, 58.

  • that looks amazing!

  • @Bluestouse86 Thanks Bluestouse86!

  • hey man could you tell me how to take the paint off and the kind of stains that you use to age the wood?

    thanks man.

  • @01murph Thanks 01murph. I use several things to take off paint including scrapers, files, sandpaper etc... Its not easy or fast, so be patient and take your time. To color the bare wood I basically use Kiwi shoe polish in black & brown and small amounts of minwax wood stain in cedar, maple and ebony. Mix to get the color you want. Hope this helps, Take care.

  • @dhf97 How's the neck keeping up with all that tension? Did you go a half-step down from the standard tuning? I like big strings, but that's just madness : ]

  • Nice job just let more time for wood to oxidize and turn gray

  • Looks awesome. Great job!

  • probably the best replica i've seen yet.

i'm preparing to start my own srv#1 project. i just bought the body and as someone that has never reliced a guitar, i was wondering if you could share some techniques?

  • Great job.

  • What brand/style are the tuners? They are perfect replicas. Thanks.

  • Looks better than the custom shop ones.

  • Fucking Amazing.

  • Hi,

I need your help if it's possible for a relicing technique.. Can I contact you on an email address? Thanks from switzerland!

  • He even got the lil' pieces of wire insulation Rene Martinez used to put on Stevie's strings to help prevent string breakage! XD
