After the tandem release of "Quent Leaves" and "Orson's Well", a family member of one of our actors remarked with sadness that BUM Productions never made any "happy" movies.
Unquestionably, our films in recent times have dealt with some dark subject matter. In fact, our writing team has had such a focus on stories where things end up badly for the protagonist, who is often an unstable or deranged individual trying to make sense out of their lives, that the last film that did not feature at least one of those elements was 2003's "The Werewolf and The Cheese." (Notwithstanding the yet-to-be-released "Calijupiter").
This music video does not necessarily mean that our exploration of the dark and unwelcome realm of the depths of the human (and inhuman) psyche is over. I was inspired to make this video the very first time I heard this song. It's nostalgic feel made a splash in my mind - a vision for a simple production like this one: A celebration of what a lot of people are talking about when they talk about "the good stuff." It's what Jack Nicholson's character meant in the movie "As Good as it Gets" by 'good times, noodle salad.' A reminder that every age is is precious, and for the people in it and their families, a preservation of these "moments in motion" for as long as they care to watch it.
Good job, Matches!
