WOOOOOW, I had no clue you guys where Canadians!!! Here in California, USA, you guys are really big. Everyone in Brazilian Jiu jitsu knows who you guys are, they have all seen your videos, and we all practice them. Its amazing. I think in Standard BJJ comps they are only legal in advanced (I could be wrong), not all competitions use the same rules.

People cross there feet for there is a few different escapes that can be done without crossing your feet yet with it those are not able to do..sorry for bad englash I'm japanese.

ive seen rodrigo gracie teach that crush but as a weapon against triangle defense. Its funny because i was just wondering if it could be used to from the armbar like so. Im not a big guy so alot of guys yank out of my armbar. PS that arm crush hurts alot and fast so remind people to be careful when practicing.

Really? You should tell my instructor, Eddie Bravo, that. Leaving a blank statement like that without explanation doesn't help anyone. When in the spider web position, crossing the feet and locking the shoulder, gives your opponent much less room to move.

Genie needs a gi or pant though. Is there a similiar grip with no gi?

no, you don't need the gi at all. it is the way you fold your arms not based on if you grab the pants.
