This is part of a Mel Bay Banjosessions lesson on playing the Irish tenor banjo in cgda tuning instead of the usual GDAE tuning. The advantage of this tuning is that when capoed up to daeb you can play the high B note without the usual finger gymnastics. You wll lose the low G (and the mojo that goes with it) but you are still in the same range as a whistle. Most tunes in D can be played with this setup.
