Usad Salamat Ali Khan (Berlin Meta Music Festival 1974) - Raag RAGESHREE Part 3

A very enjoyable performance from the Berlin Meta-Music Festival in October, 1974. recorded from a NHK-FM (Tokyo) radio broadcast. The ustad was in great form and really enjoying the singing. He sang raag Pahari with four stylistic variations - Indian, Arabic, Afgani, and Western. The jovial spirit carries over into Asavari where we hear the last 30 minutes (cut by the radio station I assume to fit the time slot) and some astounding vocalizations.

I very well remember my childhood, I used to hear Salamat ali & nazakat ali Khan on All India Radio & I loved to hear them.

I think these brothers are under rated to other famous names. I do believe that they are one of the best few.

is performed in perfection with all gifted

akaars of his voice, this video of his dhurut is matchless, and tablah sangat is

superb, (must be Shaukat Hussain)
