Hello Doc,
I can relate to your methodology. I have done extensive neuropsych. research on mesolimbic dopamine pathways@ IU med school.
My path of chronic pain starting in 2004 from a cholecystectomy and later turned into chronic pancreatitis. I have been though all of the opiate pharmacotherpy, even been through Suboxone treatment which was effective but the cieling effect hit. I was tried on methadone with great success about 4 months ago and my doctor moved practices with referral.

See I am on methadone and oxycodone 15mg instant release. Just methadone really sucks. If I was u and they wanted to put u on a long term med. I would try opana. Very expensive but works very well.

if im on oxycodone ir 30mg 8 times a day.and if my doctor wants to put me on methadone as well because he wants to add a long acting pain med since i still have pain. i heard methadone blocks the effects of other opiates so you cant feel them. If I go on methadone as well will I be able to feel the oxycodone or will the methadone just take over to the point were I wont feel it or just give me minimal effects of oxycodone. please respond asap if can have my apt soon with my doctor thank you
