12-16 hours by plane to Beijing, then if you fly to Gonggar direct, then 4-5 hours? If take train, then a few days. Oh, and you need money for tickets and a separate Tibet travel permit on top of your PRC visa.

I think you are right technically. I went to both and both in October 07 and they were awesome. Potala is just huge and to be atop the hill like that makes it all the more awesome. Very dear memories for me.

I think you are right. I was just there. The one thing they all have in common is a they are all so full of incense smoke that I couldn't enjoy them as much as I would have liked to thanks to my allergies

Nice shots & music. Check out what the Potala area looked like before they
built that .........parking lot! I have several short vids I just put-up that I shot
in '95 over at "Craigbe" Check 'em out when you can. C.

Great video! The music and the picture are just integral.
At 0:55 there's an interesting cloud in the sky (something like a lady wearing a wide brimmed hat and playing badminton)
Lhasa - holiest city, now home to nearly 1,000 brothels.

I believe The Jokhang is the holiest place in Lhasa and in all of Tibet. Very nice slide show. Love the music.
