@mukaikof Mystery diagnosis at times demonstrated what an (absolute nightmare) getting an accurate diagnosis can be,limited funds,2nd,3rd,4th,5-th,opinions while living with a debilitating illnesses.
The internet was a big factor in people researching their illness & steer them in the right direction. It's alarming how we are to ultimately fend for ourselves. If you have something (out of the box) you see how freaky it gets.I'm speaking from the viewpoint of a caretaker for someone with MS
@tjfreak i understand, i guess if the average joe survives its a miracle and everything. im just glad and thank god i dont have any health problems and diseases. i read about an article where peggy kessler has survived 10 years now and is still living a nice healthy normal life. but in this day and age it's very hard to trust any doctor. because so many doctors will say this or that just to make you happy or to make you sad. i guess because of money we will have inequality in the medical field!
@mukaikof The Peggy comm. is still running in Chicago. I think there's a fair amount of deception with the CTCOA commercials, the disclaimer started to appear (at the top) a year or 2 in, stating, you should not expect these results, no case is typical.SteveJobs had the best treatment money could buy. The average Joe...start praying.I thought right off if your going to pray on the sympathy of viewers use real patients.I don't know that
CTCOA has an edge over other Cancer treatment facilities
@photoshootme i think they pulled it, is she still alive or did she die? personally i dont think peggy Kessler had cancer to begin with...i think she was either misdiagnosed or was in her early stage of cancer. because pancreatic cancer has a death rate of 100% and the longest anyone can survive with is is 5 years but most die within months. i understand that there are sometimes miracles like 1 in a million, but these ads are just too much speculation and coincidence. i think these are actors
Yes, it is a private organization and with that comes specific obligations. Might want to check with your HMO because the major difference with HMO is your insurance company picks your doctor/hospital while PPO leaves the decision up to you. Another tid-bit, there is always MD Anderson, Dana-Farber, etc. that she could have gone too as well. CTCA wasn't her only outlet.
You would have lost your breast if you didn't have the proper insurance coverage. They turn away people with HMO's that only cover 60%. And they are OK with that because they are a "private organization". So if you had an HMO they would have let you go back and get your breast cut off. They are such nice people there huh? It's all about the money, not the patient. Mothers Care is nothing more than a slogan to pull on your heart strings.

ACCA doesn't accept federal or state funds. Go to Karmanos, Henry Ford, Sloan-Kettering, SCCA/Fred Hutchinson Center
