Turnout in the 2009 European elections was 43.01 percent, down for a seventh consecutive time the European elections were held since 1979.
Some 378 million people in 27 countries were eligible to vote in the European elections that were held between Thursday and today.
The figure was released shortly after polling stations closed in all of the 27 EU member states.

43% i guess it means..change all politicians clean sweep. is it democracy? if i dont choose one party or the other..i dont count?
