Dr. Tony Attwood returns to answer YOUR questions about Autism. In this Program, Dr. Attwood addresses facts about common sensory issues, more on the difference between "intimate" and "special" friends (and how to tell NT's about the differences) and what Dr. T calls the "intellectual orgasm"... I'll let him explain. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for mentioning asexuality. It's a thing that many Nypicals do NOT understand about us.

I also want to point out: Flirting is tough for Aspies because of all the non-verbals involved.... so in cases of sexual attraction, the Aspie is likely going to confess their love right away, very directly.... or else be to timid and avoid any sort of display of attraction at all. Sexual attraction for an Aspie will likely not manifest as flirting or a hidden agenda, however, intellectual admiration may look like sexual attraction, from the viewpoint of the NT.

Thanks for this wonderful series with Dr. Tony!!!
Sensitivity to air pressure (proprioceptive--where the body is in space)... that explains why I dislike flying so much! I'd never understood that as a sensory sensitivity until now.
I must say, Tony is an intellectual orgasm inducer for me! He understands Aspies sooo well!!! WOW. He gets me every time I hear him speak, ha ha :)

Loving the term "intellectual orgasm", I know exactly what Tony means... as an Aspie with a musical brain, it happens to me when I listen to certain songs by Vangelis ;)
